- More Cross South London routes, perhaps a bus route from Greenwich to Camberwell or even to Brixton for example
- more North/South routes in the Greenwich borough, for instance a bus route from Thamesmead to Eltham or Kidbrooke Village which avoids Woolwich
- Extend the 129 further to Catford then either to Beckenham or Forest Hill
- Keep the 180 at Lewisham
- Keep the 53 at Whitehall at least
- 320 restored to Bromley to Biggin Hill only,
- 227 extended to Streatham, more SE to SW links are needed, swap the 227 and the 358 in the Shortlands area so the 227 can run double deck buses, this route is very busy
- Restore the Forest Hill section of the 194
- 472 extended to Erith Quarry instead of 180
- 202 extended to North Greenwich
- 161 curtailed at Woolwich, the 132 offers a much quicker and more direct journey to North Greenwich from Eltham, maybe the 161 could be rerouted to Thamesmead
- New orbital or semi orbital express route, perhaps a Bluewater to Croydon service similar to the old 726

I don't think it's viable to have both the 129 and 180 going to Lewisham. I think the 53 should never have been removed from Oxford Circus. The 227 and 358 both go under the low bridge at Shortlands so it would have to be single deckers. I wouldn't disagree about returning the 194 to Forest Hill, the route doesn't have a great deal of purpose terminating at Lower Sydenham. I agree about withdrawing the North Greenwich section of the 161, it could be replaced by something else and avoids the awkward routing through Woolwich. A Croydon to Bluewater service would be nice although I don't think it would be allowed to compete with Tramlink between Croydon and Elmers End/Beckenham Junction.

I'm guessing you'd extend via the 417 to Crown Point, then 249 to St. Leonard's Church which is the only available stand space? I've previously suggested a Herne Hill to North Greenwich route via the 37, Nunhead, then via the 177 & 188 which is stretching it a little - Brixton is an extra 5-10 minutes away if sticking to that route and running via Dulwich Road & Effra Road but it's a tough one to call - good idea though. I also like the 180, 202 & 472 ideas as well

I appreciate the posts and replies :-)
South East London needs a stronger, well connected bus network, the powers that be also need to realise that while Woolwich Arsenal and CrossRail stations are in zone 4, people will either bus it to North Greenwich for a zone 2 fair or use the 53 into London for the £1.50 fare.
I agree with a route similar to the 37 from Greenwich to Brixton, I would also love the 54 to travel to West Croydon once again.

Trouble is TfL need to collect fare income ... so if fare x is reduced ... they need to increase y to compensate ... in current climate and given mayors fares freeze ... dream on to any zonal changes.

Reroute the soon-to-be-shortened 45 at Elephant via Old Kent Road and Bermondsey to Surrey Quays. Extend beyond Clapham Park to Balham High Street.
This creates a new direct SE/SW link from Surrey Quays to Balham.

You say this, but also propose the 161 is cut back to Woolwich? This proposal also breaks links from part of Woolwich Road to people's nearest Tube at North Greenwich and to be honest, the capacity is required - both the 161 and 472 fill up at North Greenwich in the evening peak.

Agree about extending route 202 to North Greenwich to provide a direct link to Lee.
Extending Route 63 to Honor Oak Park is often requested.

I'd imagine Brockley Rise is out of the question as there always seems to be insufficient space for the 172 & P12 to stand?

The 161 is too circuitous for it to be a proper tube feeder route, especially now the 132 is much faster between Eltham & NG, another route could replace the NG to Woolwich section of the 161, so that Woolwich Road maintains its links to NG. Regarding the new proposed route 335 it should be routes via Blackheath Standard and Charlton Village, and not be some private, personal express route for the Kidbrooke Village residents, makes no sense in having such a short route having an express section, 132 has this because it is a longer route.

I would like to see the 380 decked and extended to Thamesmead Town Centre to create a new link between Lewisham and Thamesmead

Problem area for me is the back streets between Charlton Station and Charlton Village.
