Many of them do not have respect I agree. But I have seen vile behaviour from Tory and Brexit Party activists as well. The Tories really cannot take the moral high ground. The BBC has complaints from the right-wing about left-wing bias, and the left-wing about right-wing bias, so they must be doing something right! Secondly, the Metro is owned by the Daily Mail Group, so I doubt they would have wanted Labour in government. The media is largely right wing so I'd hardly say the media have fuelled the lefties. Regardless of what party Boris represents, I really can't understand why anyone thinks he is a good prime minister. He is a very divisive figure and a proven liar, which is not ideal for the leader of a country. There are much less divisive Tories who would be better at uniting this country. However we need to remember everyone didn't actually vote for Boris, they voted for their local MP. A side effect would just have happened to be Boris ended up as Prime Minister. I just hope that even though this isn't the party I voted to get into power it's good to just have some clarity in the future. We are all now heading in one direction, whether that remains to be the right direction is yet to be seen. Good point, there were many local issues people voted on too. I also agree with clarity hopefully improving for us. Although there still isn't much clarity with the B word (hopefully there will be soon).

Ed Milliband was unpopular and he resigned, yet I can see why people are unhappy at Corbyn's reluctance to go soon, I guess due to the lack of a deputy. The issue is that the media present it as the next prime minister hence why people who are angry we haven't left yet voted Johnson because they saw the whole 'Get Brexit Done' message. I think that you should vote based on candidates and policies, whereas I think most people vote based on the leader - something which cost Labour dearly due to Corbyn's lack of popularity.

I'm all for people having the right to protest but I don't understand how they can seriously protest about an election result, bizarre. And how idiotic to trap people on a bus, police really need to deal with these idiots robustly. This was ridiculous to be honest. Fine, your party May not have won - but at least accept the people’s verdict and try better next time. “Not my PM” and “get rid of Boris” will not get them anywhere. Do they want a vote every month till Corbyn somehow wins! Indeed, I didn’t vote for the Tories but I’ve got better things to do than protest about a democratic result - it’s a new trend when people don’t get the result they want as we saw with both referendums. There is a famous saying I can’t quite remember about how losing gracefully is as important as being victorious and I think people should really remember this

I know its early days but Labour are getting hammered for their ambigious Brexit policy in nothern leave seats, of my seats to watch list the only ones to come through have all been Tory gains. Peterborough has also gone to the Tories to, having been a Labour gain two years ago. Labour have also lost Peterborough just a few months after they won the by-election there. Mind you, the LibDems have also lost Brecon & Radnorshire after their recent by-election there.

Just look at workington which labour held for 97 out of 100 years has now gone to the conservatives. Locally to you, Putney has gone Labour for the first time since 2005 which is a good win for Labour, helps them cancel out a tory gain in the north. Putney was Labour's only gain across the country this time. All Labour losses to the Conservatives were in Leave areas apart from Kensington and Stroud. In Scotland they have reverted to just 1 seat: Edinburgh South. Believe it or not, this was my local constituency in 1997-2002!

And Jo Swinson loses her seat! Me and 725DYE are watching all the drama unfold. She may well be the highest-profile casualty this time. All 11 current LibDem MPs now represent Remain areas. On another forum I predicted the LibDems missing out on St Ives for being a Leave areas. Apart from Tim Farron's Westmoreland & Lonsdale constituency, all LibDem ones are now in Scotland or the South, including London.

Its a very different political map now with so much blue in the north. Two waves which have decimated once Labour heartlands have occured now, 2015 Scotland, 2019 the North. I think Labour has shown utter contempt for these heartlands, often placing people from the south (such as the Miliband brothers) in these seats to get them in parliament. Time for them to reflect, the squeeze was Brexit, and this was always going to be very difficult for them as they used to represent many remain (such as the seat I'm in) and leave seats (no longer the latter). If Brexit is brushed under the carpet then perhaps the north will come back though Labour must not think the north will come back automatically just because Brexit is sorted and Corbyn is won, they must try to actively work to win these seats back, selecting candidates well in advance of the next general election. In Scotland, I gather Labour were incompetent, and were resting on their laurels too much, once again. The SNP have gained traction there so it may be diffcult but the one thing Labour should take away from this is that it is a huge wake up call. A more popular leader is certainly part of the solution, but more sensible policies are needed or the party will just go to poo.

Problem with grenfel, many of this was before Cameron took office and happened under labour, but then the left wing press like BBC doesn't report this. This cladding thing and many of the catalogue of things that led to Grenfell has been over 10 years in the making.
I feel it is a major shame at Swinson resigning, but I believe she took a major gamble by saying that she would ignore a democratic referendum and stay in the EU. One of the reasons why I say many remoaners and left wing people don't get it. I am not surprised in London as I have previously said here, people vote like Labour is a football team and would never consider any other party. To me that is delusional, I would always vote which party I think best suited me or my opinions, not follow the sheep. many have stupid one tracked minds on hysteria created by left wing media which they do not even realise is the same or worst within the labour party.
In some ways believe it or not, I feel sorry for Corbyn, he had been binned all the hype (Goooo Jeremy COOOORbin) etc and visions of the 60's & 70's in this day and age is never going to happen. If Labour goes for a female leader just for the sake of a tick box exercise they would be going down the same road. If they are going to go for a leader, chose a male or female leader based on qualities, these are some of the reasons why Johnson has come to power, people are sick of the spoonfed political correct BS over the years.
Actually, both parties are to blame for Grenfell because Grenfell’s plight started under Thatcher when she sold off council housing whilst letting the rest rot to pieces and successive governments of all persuasions failed to deal with this decline hence why May getting all the blame is wrong. Swinson made two fatal errors - declaring she could be PM & campaigning on the basis of straight up revoking Article 50. This ultimately put many remainers off not to mention lack of pact between Lib Dem’s & Labour splitting the Remain vote unlike the Leave vote which had a Tory & Brexit Party alliance. I did feel sorry for her losing her seat as it meant the racist SNP party getting in instead. I am no fan of the SNP, but to say they are racist is a bit extreme

This is what I cant stand about these activist leftist people its no other way but their and they are very sore losers who believe everyone should be brainwashed into their way of thinking. They are part of the reason that is shifting centreground people to the right. Gret -yah thunderburger and others like Momentum, Climate Rebellion are all part of this movement imo.

Social Media is still in meltdown! Never known such sour grapes I thought the Brexit vote was bad. One thing that is really making my blood boil is its being implied you are some type of racist for not voting Labour and that is not fair.

I really can't see Boris uniting this nation. He is a very divisive figure, which is not an ideal trait for any leader of a country. If if we talk about public transport and buses though, let's hope the Tories stop being so pro-car and actually become proactive in promoting bus useage (not just trains!). While I don't quite agree with Labour's views on nationalisation, at least they did talk about buses, probably much more so than in previous elections. The local Tories in my area just build car parks and build new roads. Public transport is not a priority for them. Well in London, labour have come in and are letting buses down, at least there were a few things done under Conservative. Labour's never ending manifesto promises had a way to bring some bus services back under public ownership which was laughable imo. But then never mentioned any improvements etc. that being public ownership would bring. I loved the uniformity of public ownership buses and trains, but services were nothing to should about, it was poo at times to be honest. We need new roads, buses also benefit from them, I guess in 20 years time you would see why lack of roads stifles communities and economy. Conservatives nor labour have not built hardly any roads since the 90's and should be ashamed of themselves. We need more roads, more train lines.
