Changes in Euston and North West London: - Routes 18/N18 will be rerouted in both directions between Bishops Bridge Road / Little Venice and Marylebone Station via Paddington Square, Eastbourne Terrace, Paddington Station, S’t Mary’s Hospital, Praed Street, Old Marylebone Road / Edgware Road and LOR to Marylebone Station. No replacement bus service will run via Edgware Road Stn / Bakerloo Line. - Route 30 will be rerouted to Oxford Circus via Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road Station and Wardour Street / Soho and will no longer run between Euston to Marble Arch via Baker Street and Portman Square. - Route 73 will no longer run from service. See routes 30/N277 and 476 for replacement. - Route 205 will be rerouted to Marble Arch via Portman Square and Selfridges and will no longer run between Marylebone to Paddington via S’t Mary’s Hospital. - Route N205 will continue to Paddington via Marylebone. - Route 476 will be extended to Euston Bus Station via Euston Road and will now run an enhanced operation frequently and 24 hours a day. Extended north to Meridian Water. - Route N73 will no longer run from service. See new route N76 and N277 for replacement. - New route N76 will be introduced replacing the nightly 76 service, running to Walthamstow Central via Blackhorse Road. Buses will no longer serve Tottenham Hale nightly. - Route N277 will be extended to Oxford Circus via Pentonville, King’s Cross, Euston, Warren Street, Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road Station and Wardour Street / Soho. To make more safety space at Euston Bus Station, routes 91 and 390 will no longer serve Euston Bus Station. I don’t think the 18 and 205 need to be meddled with. If you were to reroute the 30 to Oxford Circus, I’m not sure whether it will be reliable because of traffic congestions on Oxford Street from Tottenham Court Road. Your 476 proposed route sounds good, but I would number it as 73 since you proposed to withdraw the N73. I think the N277 extension to Oxford Circus is too long.

Route 390 ONLY continues down Euston Road and skips Euston Bus Station. Route 91 to skip Euston Bus Station completely and turn right to Churchway from Euston Sauare Gardens (not to be confused by Euston Sq Stn) by Travelodge. I think the 73 though would be the sort of route there would be high opposition from the genteel populations of Stoke Newington/Church Street/Newington Green about the loss of the route into the west end.

Your 476 proposed route sounds good, but I would number it as 73 since you proposed to withdraw the N73. I think the N277 extension to Oxford Circus is too long. The 18 and 205 were included in light of recent consultation, so yes I agree with your statement. However, I still think something needs to run to Marble Arch via Portman Square from the Euston Road area, its a very busy link and often has standing loads from the first stop at Marble Arch where it doesn’t really empty out until Warren Street and then another load comes in. I don’t think the 30 will be too unreliable, with a less padded out timetable, it should be fine. From what I picture, it should take the same exact time. The only busy slower traffic is Wardour Street. TCR itself southbound is majority buses only. And the N277 extension personally, adds on no more than an extra 20 minutes at most. There are plenty other night routes that are far longer and having a 24 hour 30 and an N277 from Hackney to Islington as well as N38 would be excessive.

Changes in Euston and North West London: Euston Station stop AZ now for route 390 towards York Way and for alighting route 18. Route 390 ONLY continues down Euston Road and skips Euston Bus Station. Route 91 to skip Euston Bus Station completely and turn right to Churchway from Euston Sauare Gardens (not to be confused by Euston Sq Stn) by Travelodge. I understand why you’ll want 390 to stop at Stop AZ in Euston instead of going to the bus station as to avoid many traffic lights. But I don’t think 91 skipping Euston Bus Station is a good idea. This is very debatable. Euston Bus Station stop for the 91 and 390 is probably the least used, you get no more than 3 people boarding at a time and often find no one waiting for the bus there. No links beyond King’s Cross on the 390, just local resident journeys. While the 91 does obviously serve Holloway, it still doesn’t pick up much at Euston Bus Station. The debate is that a lot of people from the West End, Aldwych and Russell Square alight at Euston (3/4 alight at Upper Woburn Place and go to their desired UCLH etc. walking via Endsleigh Gardens) or whatever sorts (its always quicker to walk when you’re in Euston). Removing one stop and forcing people to cross from Upper Woburn Place is very little harm, saves people having to get stuck in traffic lights, and you’ll get there faster walking, let’s be honest. If it comes to accessibility requirements, there’s always a swap over to the 68 at the Bus Station. There’s also no common link with any other routes on the 91 north of Euston, so it doesn’t need a common stop at the Bus Station, same here for the 390.

I understand where youre coming from, but also, I don’t really agree. Yeah, Stokey has attracted a whole new crowd and alot of these people spend their time in the West End, but it’s a very 0.1% that travel end to end on the 73, after all it runs from Stokey and ends at OXO, a very long journey sitting on for. The 30 has much more demand in terms of links, Highbury, Dalston, Hackney and De Beauvoir, Hackney Wick and Victoria Park to the same Islington and Bloomsbury, (where these Stokey residents all go for leisure anyway), so I don’t think Stokey residents will be too fussed. The 30 route isn’t far from the 73 route for most of it anyway until you pass east of Hackney Central.

Because of the new developments at St Pancras Way, should route 46 run down St Pancras Way from Kentish Town Road to Pancras Road instead of going down Camden Street and Crowndale Road when heading towards the St Bart’s Hospital direction?

Restructure ideas for merging 73 & 476:73: Oxford Circus - Meridian Water (merged with 476 & converted into 24 hour route) 76: Waterloo - Walthamstow Central (extended to Walthamstow Central via N73’s way from Tottenham Hale) 476: Withdrawn (merged with route 73) N73: Withdrawn (replaced by 76 between Stoke Newington and Walthamstow Central) The 76's max running time is already 92 minutes long so I can't see such an extension happening. I also don't think any merging needs to take place on this corridor and I don't understand why so many want to merge these two routes together but I'm not local so maybe I'm missing something. I can understand the 73 and 476, since the 73 no longer goes to Victoria, but the 76 to Walthamstow Central is not needed and unnecessary.

My objection to merging the 73 and 476 due to the frequency and capacity imbalances this would create are well-documented, these routes overlap for a reason. 76 to Wathamstow is totally unnecessary. It was a good move to route it to Tottenham Hale, there is interchange there with the 123 and 230 depending on where in Wathamstow you want to be.

From a night bus perspective, TfL were very vocal in saying the N76 wasn't needed to Northumberland Park when restructuring the 76. If we have to cross that bridge, then upping the 341N to every 20 mins at weekends once it's extended to Meridian Water should do the trick.

Some changes mainly revolving around the 481:
411 - Kingston to West Molesey (4bph 12m SD) Off-peak frequency increased from 3bph to 4bph, which matches the peak frequency and therefore doesn't require a PVR increase. Upgraded to longer DXEs from the 293, with the 293 upgraded to DDs, to better suit demand on both routes.
481 - Kingston to Osterley Tesco (3bph 10.8m SD + 1 SDO DD) > Diverted between Nelson Road and Twickenham Tesco via Whitton Dene (leaves 2 pairs of stops on Rugby Road unserved, both less than 400m from the Twickenham Tesco stop), providing new connections to residental areas in Whitton as opposed to duplicating the 281. > Withdrawn from West Middlesex Hospital grounds and extended to Osterley Tesco via the H28's routing, providing new links to the new development that will replace Osterley Tesco. > Downgraded from DDs to 10.8m SDs to better suit demand, but increased from 2bph to 3bph as this will induce demand and provide some relief to the 281. > Transport UK school journeys replaced by new school route 641, but the Metroline school journey using a DD remains. > PVR increased from 7 to 9 (+2), formed of 8 SDs for the daytime service and 1 DD for the school journey.
H28 - Bulls Bridge Tesco to West Middlesex Hospital (4bph 10.8m SD) Withdrawn between Osterley Tesco and West Middlesex Hospital, this breaks very few links as the Tesco is being demolished. Frequency increased from 3bph to 4bph (something previously planned by TfL), and PVR increased from 11 to 12 (+1).
New school routes:
628 - Bulls Bridge Tesco to Osterley Tesco (1bpd 10.8m SD) New school route following the H28 from Bulls Bridge Tesco to Jersey Road, and then to Osterley Tesco via Jersey Road and Syon Lane. Replaces the H28's school journey, and means students attending the two schools on Syon Lane can leave 20 minutes later as the bus doesn't go via Wood Lane, WMH and Busch Corner. Has 1 journey in each direction, with a PVR of 1 (+1), and operates on a joint contract with the H28. Existing 628 renumbered.
641 - Hampton Wick to Turing House School (2bpd DD) New school route following the 281/285 from Hampton Wick Station to Teddington, and then 481 to Turing House School. Has 2 journeys in each direction, replacing the Transport UK 481 journeys and therefore crosslinked to the 111. Provides new links to the school instead of having excess buses using the quiet Sandy Lane, whilst still providing the same service as the existing 481D journeys do from Teddington onwards.

Has a 227 / 358 swap between Beckenham and Shortlands ever been mooted? They’re different frequencies so not really practical.
