There is to be an announcement apparently on the 23rd of September regarding the Arriva Bucks business; the rumour mill has it that First and Go-Ahead are involved.. As far as I'm aware, nothing was announced on the date quoted. Anyone know any more?

As far as I'm aware, nothing was announced on the date quoted. Anyone know any more? I’ve been told two things; 1) A deal could not be agreed and the company in question want to break down Arriva and sell off the least profitable bits of the organisation 2) Arriva themselves in the process of a restructure to cut costs. This has come in the form of redundancies of mid-tier management but to what end this is I’m not sure. Everything is up in the air at the moment hence why I didn’t update when the supposed announcement was to be made.

Another option DB are in discussions with iSquared about taking over the whole business. Any other talks would be suspended, pending collapse of talks or takeover.

I suspect Arriva will become largely a contractor. They already operate two rail franchises, have the London Overground concession and also a substantial London Buses presence. Although they appear not to have bid for any work in the first two tranches of Greater Manchester franchising, they are in a good position to retain and/or win work as Liverpool City Region transitions to bus franchising, also in West Yorkshire which is likely to announce a move to bus franchising next year. North of Tyne Combined Authority may also consider bus franchising and Arriva are well placed to retain/win work there. At least this solves the problem of Arriva's rubbish bus publicity - someone else will be responsible for it!
I expect most of the rest will be sold off piecemeal.

Although I expect you will be right, I do wonder who will buy some of the bits of Arriva that are left, there are a few real lemons in there.

New Electric SDs are on the way for Stevenage after DB initially pulled out of the plan. Interesting. Did find it odd the ZEBRA money didn't seem to have been reallocated. Any idea what type is on the way? I seem to remember the initial bid involving the Arrival single deck, now not being produced.

That's from March 2022 predating the announced cancellation of the scheme.

The group website seems to have had a relaunch.
The arriva.co.uk site redirects you to arrivagroup.com , although sub pages still seem to refer to the original domain.
