Seems that Centrist Starmer’s government has now fallen below 30% in the polls, truly a horrendous start for this government. As someone who chose to bite their tongue and support Starmer as an alternative to the prospect of 5 more years of the Tories this is deeply uninspiring and I’m honestly unsure if this government can last until the end of the year! I know the media aren’t exactly allied to this government like they were to Blair but it’s really hard not to feel as if some real change needs to come about.
You know I can’t say I especially agree with the man in relation to foreign policy and frankly he was an absolute liability, but my god would a manifesto like Corbyn’s in 2017 have truly been something to look forward to. Then I reckon the election would’ve felt like the landslide in 1997. This all seems to be more of the same and I can’t say I’d be surprised if Reform do in fact win at the next election.

Rayner is barely a Corbyn ally anymore, she played a part in his dropping and eventual expulsion from the party and now sits quite firmly on the right of it. Her popularity is soaring and I'd not be surprised to see her eventually in the Home Secretary position. All the others are effectively in powerless positions. Starmer is clearly playing the long game, initially starting with a relatively left biased cabinet before purging everyone bit by bit. I remember when Dodds was shadow Chancellor, while initially an absurd choice it did allow for the purging of the left to be done in a staged and relatively harmless manner. She is treacherous and not loyal and only for herself. I hope you don’t mind me replying to this a few months on but this party has completely abandoned their principles and integrity. Despite Blair having achieved a great deal as PM, and Brown too, it seems that the party consensus has been that they can only win from the centre and not from the left. I appreciate the Overton window has moved a great deal since Thatcher but the politics of 20-30 years ago is very different to now. I’m willing to give them one final chance up until the Autumn budget but this really isn’t looking good. You know he might not be the most left wing politician out there but really someone like Burnham would be the best person to lead the party. He’s from the North, very popular in Greater Manchester and I think has his finger on the pulse of a part of the country which could quite likely drift towards Reform in a few years. He sounds genuine and I appreciate he lost two leadership elections, but I think after some time working as a leader of a smaller scale I reckon he’d be far more cut out for the job than Starmer. Oh how I could wish 😕

You reap what you sowed. End of the day the media are friends of no one, they are the devil itself. They would big parties up to get them in power, once they are in and don't bow to them, they would do everything to pull them down.

When they have won, then they would forget their manifesto and promises and skew the lines.
