This is really getting out of hand now! After the disruption at the Chelsea Flower show in May, they decided to disrupt the cricket a few days ago Mind you I found this article quite funny www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/steward-who-tackled-just-stop-oil-protesters-at-cricket-match-makes-best-linkedin-post-ever/ar-AA1dictsI was walking on Bayswater Road not far from Marble Arch station today where I saw some more protesters literally standing in the road blocking traffic and holding signs like 'climate emergency' and 'hottest June on record'. Everyone has the right to peaceful protest but unfortunately the police do nothing/very little about this which has allowed it to continue for so long. The police take a very soft approach to some crimes unlike many other countries across Europe I find it amazing that Just Stop Oil protestor are quickly removed from sports events, but the police choose to do nothing when they commit the unlawful act of blocking a public highway. Police need to start doing their job properly. No place for anarchy in the UK. The irony being that if you touch them yhe police WILL DEFINITELY jump On you and arrest you

I'm surprised that they managed that at Wimbledon, my daughter was there yesterday and she said security had been noticeably increased on previous years. One of the staff said that they were expecting protesters and hopefully they are ready for them but clearly they weren't. Seems it's nigh on impossible to stop them.

Given that these idiots have hit the cricket and the tennis in recent days obviously the upcoming British Grand Prix is going to be targeted just as it was last year. Protestors and motor racing aren’t the best of bedfellows but when it’s happened in the past thankfully there hasn’t been any harm caused but the prospect of people on a live race track just reminds me of Tom Pryce and if you haven’t heard of him then don’t worry as he was killed around 45 years ago when he collided with a marshal running across the track. The details of what happened are incredibly gruesome and the footage that exists of the accident is horrific so do yourselves a favour and DO NOT Google it but I hope these Just Stop Oil idiots don’t do anything stupid at Silverstone this weekend

There are suggestions that there should be a news black out on such protests but that does rather open up another can of worms about what should and shouldn't be reported and of course it will all be on social media anyway.

I did notice that the cameras quickly switched away from the protests during the tennis yesterday and not giving these people the exposure on TV is good but as you say, spectators will all have their phones out posting it on social media within seconds I just find it unfathomable that these people think these protests will win people around to their cause - they are causing far more harm than good

There have been several court judgements plus the human rights act issues which mean police have to jump through several hoops before they can get these people out of the roads.

In one of their tweets they said that tickets only cost £35 and they could afford it due to increasing donations from people. But then you have the issue of security, and bag checks. They check for stuff like knives but then they'll forget to check for orange dust because they think it won't harm anyone

The climate crisis is obviously an issue, which I don't think the world is prepared for or willing to do anything about it, but it's also sad to see sports like these disrupted by these protests.

There have been several court judgements plus the human rights act issues which mean police have to jump through several hoops before they can get these people out of the roads. And yet when they disrupted the Pride march, the police were all over them! As far as I’m concerned Section 137 of the Highways Act 1980 gives the police all the powers they need to move JSO protestors out of the road

Obstructing a public highway is a crime. You can bet if the Mayor was due to travel down the road with his motorcade, they would be shifted d*mn quickly. But you average Joe Public can have their right to free movement taken away, and delayed indefinitely, and it is OK.

It can’t just be bypassed because judges disagree with it. I genuinely despair at the state of this country

F1 is a really dangerous sport like what happened to Jules Bianchi in 2014. So I really hope that the protestors have some common sense to not run onto the race track
