I have honestly never seen a busy 289. are loadings that heavy on the route to wrrant a DD conversion. The 355 is a tough one as I have used it a few times from Brixton and its been full yet has emptied by Kings Ave and between Tooing and Mitcham there is sufficient capacity on the 264, 270 and 280 plus even the 127. The 289 heavy loadings are between Purley & Addiscombe, many times I've been jammed in on a PDL. The 355 gets packed from Tooting Broadway and stays full until Brixton - that's a good chunk of the route!

Metrobus have done it on practically everyone one of their routes - at both C and MB. Only route I can think of that's avoided single-decks is the 54, which most single deckers at C probably aren't blinded for. The 32 has had the occasional Enviro200 on there. Also been a few on the H91 in West London apparently. The 350 seems to have regular single deck workings despite its conversion to TAs - frankly the 112 deserves the deckers more. Stagecoach's 61 at TB has seen a few single deckers, more so recently due to a few of the long Enviro400 being off the road. ETB used to do it all the time with their routes - an ELS or DWL would sometimes end up on the 185 etc. 247 and 496 have used Enviro200s from the 296 in 2011. 252 has also used a DML back in 2012.

Doubt the 252 will see many single-dockers when it's at Rainham, the only single deckers left there will be the 165.

[The 289 heavy loadings are between Purley & Addiscombe, many times I've been jammed in on a PDL. Today, I was on board ENX17 on route 289 (running number 275). I got on at alton road, the stop after waddon station heading towards elmers end. I boarded this bus at 2115 and the bus was packed At purley way superstore there was passengers standing at the front and at almost every stop the passengers were getting caught by the front doors as the driver kept opening them. When we got to thornton heath then there was some space on the bus but almost every seat was filled by the time I got off at lower addiscombe. What I noticed about this route is that outside the school holidays I find that this route copes fairly well most of the time with passenger capacity. During the weekends and school holidays, it does get really busy. I just quite surprise with the patronage of the route at that time of night considering it was a Monday as well. Ultimately, I think I was more annoyed with the journey. There was a driver change at thornton heath garage and the driver took about 5 minutes to get ready. Looking at the timetable, the bus should of reached addiscombe town centre at 2139. I got off the bus at lower addiscombe road around 2145. A journey of 30 minutes I think the bus was 10 minutes late
