I was looking through an old book the other day, and noticed how some of the ulimate destinations have changed, despite the terminus being the same place.
For example, I saw an RT going to HIGHGATE, Archway Station (which would now just be described Archway), and also another bus going to LIVERPOOL STREET, Finsbury Circus (this is of course now MOORGATE, Finsbury Circus)
I am wondering what other examples of this there are, and any other changes that may be noticeable. Also, when is it thought it best just to describe an estate without including the town that it is in. For example I was over at Heathrow the other day, and noticed that the H25 displays simply "Butts Farm" (in Hanworth) whereas the H26 displays FELTHAM, Sparrow Farm.
Another thing that I have noticed is that Charring Cross has disappeared from destinations, despite this being a more accurate description for routes like the 15 than Trafalgar Square (I accept its not exactly far, but you get my point.)
I would be interested to get a discussion going on this on any of these points and other examples

I think it's more to do with making destinations less confusing. Also a lot of destinations where say a pub name or other 'landmark' was used like 'Dulwich Plough' were changed as pub names changed or they have been shut down etc.
Here's a few: 'Harrow Road - prince of Wales' is now 'Harrow Road- Elgin Avenue' First used to have it shown as 'Prince of Wales - Harrow Rd' on older blind sets
'Shooters Hill - Bull' is now 'Shooters Hill- Eaglesfield Rd'
'South Croydon - Swan & Sugar Loaf' is now 'South Croydon - South End'
There's indoubtly many more

This is a funny one - One the old P12 LDPs, the front destination blind used to say "Brockley Rise" with the iBus saying "P12 to Honor Oak Park". But since the E200s came to play, its been switched around.

Before the 238 and 288 used to have 'Barking Station' on their blinds. But now they only display 'Barking'

But since the E200s came to play, its been switched around. I remember when the SEs were first delivered, the front blind showed Brockley Rise and then it suddenly changed to Honor Oak Park. I thought then that the route was cut back to Honor Oak Park unknowing that it still goes to Brockley Rise. Its a bit strange how 172 and P12 both terminate at the same place (Don't know if they still do, haven't been past B. Rise in ages) but P12 shows a different destination to 172.

Routes 1's 52-Reg VWLs and 180's VWLs show 'Thamesmead' for route N1 but Route 1's 04-Reg VWLs and 453's Enviro400s show 'Thamesmead, Boiler House'. Where is the Boiler House in Thamesmead?

Before the 238 and 288 used to have 'Barking Station' on their blinds. But now they only display 'Barking' When there is a short turn to Brockley on the 484, the bus blinds display "Frendsbury Road" even though the last stop is called "Brockhill Crescent".

Half of the Stamford Brook Garage turn is now called 'Stamford Brook, Chiswick Lane' - the name of the eastbound stop. Westbounds still terminate at Stamford Brook Bus Garage.
27 used to go to Turnham Green, Church, now the turn is Turnham Green. Greenford, Red Lion became Greenford Broadway in 2008(?) (and became Greenford, Red Lion again in 2014 on E1 even though the pub shut around when the destination changed)
London Airport Central -> Heathrow Airport Central -> Heathrow Airport, Central Bus Station -> Heathrow Airport (140 only)/Heathrow, Central Bus Station (111) -> Heathrow Central (all routes except 140 so far on blinds)

I think it's more to do with making destinations less confusing. Also a lot of destinations where say a pub name or other 'landmark' was used like 'Dulwich Plough' were changed as pub names changed or they have been shut down etc. The Plough pub changed to 'Goose and Granite' and yet blinds continued to say Plough. It then became the Plough again and the blinds changed to Dulwich Library. Incidentally, the Plough pub car park used to be the bus/tram stand many years ago.

'Brixton, LT Station' changed to 'Brixton Station' & now some buses just say 'Brixton' 'Brixton Hill & Atkins Road' and 'Streatham Hill, Atkins Road' have both morphed into the more appropriate 'Clapham Park' 'Croydon, Park Street' & 'Croydon, Fairfield Halls' have morphed into 'Croydon, Town Centre' and then 'Croydon Town Centre (that's not a typo).
