Agree with Barnes as it certainly has more 'village' aspects than Hayes, Wimbledon Village or Roehampton - those to me are not villages at all but merely suburbs. Fair tbh, although Telegraph Road in Putney Heath has a village feel to me (where the 424 goes) Dulwich Village is another I forgot to mention that does have the village feel

Driver's view of the tunnel sidings beyond the Elephant and Castle's Bakerloo Line terminus, the video shown for training purposes. youtu.be/yOplc5w0JMMI always used to think that the tunnel which branched off to the right had looped around to the London Road depot, merging up with the side tunnel from Lambeth North beforehand.

www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/2020/09/30/london-undergrounds-bakerloo-line-extension-put-on-hold/Not exactly a suprise regarding the Bakerloo Line. What I did find interesting however is the consideration of the Jubilee Line eventually gaining completely new stock in conjunction with a pvr increase, the 96 stock then moved to the Northern Line in conjunction with its own plans in addition to pvr increase. This would be an ammend of the original plan of both lines getting new train top ups, which makes sense as standardisation would be more or less maintained on both¹ lines should this ever go ahead. ¹ - or rather all three lines once the Northern Line's split

The proposed new Underground station building at Elephant & Castle is to be modified, to take into account the future Bakerloo Line extension. Although currently on hold, the extension would include new platforms for the Bakerloo Line and the two lines (Bakerloo & Northern) would be incorporated into a single station; the new station redesign allows for this. The station will be rebuilt as part of the redevelopment of Elephant & Castle shopping centre, London Underground will fit out the station and construct links to the Northern Line platforms. It would be nice if the approaches for the Northern Line tunnels could be realigned or adjusted as the line has some sharp curves on the approach and departure from Elephant & Castle.
I assume the old lift and stairs for the Northern line will be removed.
Once these works are completed at Elephant & Castle it will be a much more pleasant station.
Works are very much still required at the Thameslink station which is so dilapidated.

Not massively surprising when considered the debt TFL are now in and how its still not known quite how much Londons population may drop and how office/work from home pans out.

Bearing in mind finances and other ongoing projects it's a pity the line couldn't already have been in construction in stages¹, eg. Elephant & Castle, Burgess Park, Old Kent Road and New Cross Gate constructed as phase 1 with the rest done years later. I believe the intended sight for Old Kent Road Station is still the abandoned Toy-r-us building.
¹ - like the Battersea extension with it future-proofed for Clapham Junction reguardless...

The former Toys-R-Us building is now a Lidl though. Will they give up the land?
