My recollection is that it was a case of matching demand to capacity and frequency. The northern end of the 312 remained busy but its southern section had been more badly affected by Tramlink than the 197 along Morland Road, possibly due to the Addiscombe tramstop. Joining the 197 with the northern bit of the 312 maintained most links and matched service levels, while allowing reductions on the rump 312. But the 197 and 312 are both every 12mins. Indeed, but the 312 became a single decker route when it was curtailed to Norwood Junction.

36X I think is blinded 36 to/from Notting Hill Carnival. Saw a SW WVL at Peckham Bus Station.
Normal 36's and 436's were packed as they entered Peckham. Due to a diversion in Peckham, the first stop for the 36X is The Academy at Peckham until 1600.
The 436X I saw in Peckham towards Notting Hill Gate only had two passengers on board.

How come Nick had the old style conductor's ticket machine instead of the one with the Oyster reader?

I've already been on a 12 with a larger info screen, using a map and GPS to tell the passenger where exactly the bus is.

I know a couple of people who have lives in Brixton for nearly 20 years also. They complain about the P5 all the time. I know one reason is that its usually late, but I think the other reason is down to arguments etc but I'm not too sure on that. I can tell you that I've been put off going on the P5 for this reason (and because it goes through Brixton ) Not that ancient Brixton sterotype thing again *rolls eyes* Can't say I've ever had any problems in Brixton and that includes when Brixton got it's bad rep.

Maybe it was Forest Hill then as your right in that the museum is in Forest Hill - I know for definite that I saw the Horniman Museum on the blinds lol. I'm pretty sure the blind just says "Horniman Museum". I've seen Forest Hill Horniman Museum on the blinds. P13 from general observations. - Tulse Hill
- East Dulwich Goose Green
- East Dulwich Sainsburys
- Peckham Bus Station

The Londonist website has done a straw poll to see how people have been affected by the changes, it appears that there is a new trend of passengers offering to use their contactless card to cash payers in exchange for £1.45. londonist.com/2014/08/cashless-buses.php

I was in Central London today, while it appears tourists are understanding that buses no longer accept cash, I saw two groups of tourists using paper off-peak One Day Travelcards instead.
While at Charing Cross LU station, there are more tourists with Oyster issues than what I feel is than before with others happily buying the Z1-6 One Day Travelcard.

Definitely in the summer holiday period as the 185 crawled towards Lewisham just now.

Does anyone remember a campaign to extend the 42 to East Dulwich Sainsburys via North Dulwich Station and East Dulwich Grove? Sainsburys even added an additional bus shelter for the route, but it didn't get the go ahead.

Topped up my oyster the other day and noticed they have put the £1.99 Mc Donalds voucher that was on bus tickets on the oyster receipt. Oh yes, just checked my receipt from the other day and on the front it now has "Oyster - Oyster Sales Service" also.
