Operators don't run fleets for the entertainment of their staff or enthusiasts. A common fleet saves money, both on purchase/lease price and running costs.

Doesn't Hyperlink still run between Leeds and Bradford? That uses First FTRs.

Quick answer ... No, they're not valid. Why do you think they would be? To use a shopping analogy, if something went wrong in Sainsburys, why would you expect Asda to sort it?

TfL are now consulting on bus route changes in connection with the planned gyratory removal works at Archway. consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/archway-consultationNot looked at the detail yet - comments later. EDIT - conclusion. The scheme is still stupid and makes interchange ridiculously complicated and lengthy. What a mess indeed. I mean, I'm confused as to where the likes of the terminating routes on Archway Road are to turn around? Are they U-turning or are they running to the end of the dual carriageway much further up? There's to be a signalled U-turn for buses on Archway Road. But yep, the scheme's still stupid.

Oh my ... here's some more on this from BYD: www.bydeurope.com/news/news.php?action=readnews&page=1&nid=207Interesting bit of it: "The vehicles will be built on BYD chassis and powered by BYD’s technology-leading electric drivetrain. All 51 buses will be bodied by ADL, incorporating their market-leading Enviro200-like midi bus design. The Enviro200 is the world’s best-selling midi bus and renowned for its lightweight, easy access, manoeuvrability and fuel efficiency."

i think it depends on the livery with the MMC i personally think the brighton and hove ones look awful but the stagecoach national livery suits it very well ... except Brighton & Hove have no MMCs. They're Wright Streetdecks.

How old were the children? As you say they're primary school children so would be under the age of 14, then for PCVs there's a concession that counts 3 children as 2 passengers, providing the bus does not have seat belts. So sorry to say, yes you're being unreasonable.

Bit of a cop out with those 69 deckers. Still can't see it running the whole trip on battery mode apart from at night let alone in the peaks and at weekends. I'd rather have a 'cop out' as you put rather than a bus that breaks down with flat batteries because it hasn't been able to charge itself. The 69 gets turns just like every route. What if it's short-turned and can't get to Walthamstow or Canning Town for whatever reason to recharge?

The bigger London area bus rallies (Cobham/London Bus Museum and North Weald), plus showbus at the IWM Duxford. What sort of ticket machine are you after? something like a wayfarer tgx or wayfarer 3 Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to use a TGX or a Wayfarer 3 without all of the back end systems, signed on modules, depot readers etc. The closest you could easily get if you want an electronic machine is a Wayfarer Saver, they don't use modules. My best ebay find a few years ago was an entire Almex A90 system - five machines, a depot reader, five modules and a really old DOS computer to programme it. £100 the lot! And quite easy to programme and play with.

Well I would have loved to help. I answered the first few questions then just got a message 'please close your browser window'. No explanation as to why and frankly I can't be bothered to do it again.
Or aren't the views of middle aged men in London who travel on most modes of travel, drive and walk what you want to hear?

Why would they? The 9H was a totally separate contract which has ended. TUPE doesn't apply in this case.

Nothing ... other than them eventually becoming white stops. There's officially no such thing as a red Request Stop anymore, they may still exist on the street (and in large numbers) but the distinction between red and white stops ended a few years ago.

There was an X53 for a while in the 80s and 90s which was a limited stop version of the 53. Never heard of a London X63 though.

The W15 and 339 share all of four stops when they leave Leytonstone before heading off in completely different directions. The W15 is much more frequent than the 339 and can more than handle the load heading down Grove Green Road for the large majority of the time - W15's will also nearly empty out at Leytonstone.
The stop arrangement at Leytonstone is the only compromise that works sensibly.
Interestingly, my 339 earlier picked up 3 at Stratford, then a full load as soon as it turned onto Leytonstone High Road. Some were surprised when it turned off at Harrow Green but stayed in until Leytonstone. At Leytonstone, there were already 3 waiting passengers to head back towards Westfield.
